I'm afraid I don't know which poem this is, but the translation is very Martial-esque in spirit!

What are the things that make for a happy life,
Martial, my dearest friend? This is my choice:
A private income, with never the need to work,
A plot of land, a house you can call your own,
Comfortable clothes, no worries with the law,
Political freedom, health and a quiet mind,
Thoughtful frankness, an easy circle of friends,
    Relaxing hospitality, simply food,
No need to be drunk to have a good night's sleep,
The pleasures of sex without the riots of lust,
Dreams that abbreviate the scary dark:
Wish to be what you are and no thing more,
Thinking of death with neither fear nor joy.
